Introduction

In a time when far-right movements are increasingly coming to the forefront, it is crucial to recognise the dangers these ideologies pose to workers' rights and human rights. This video highlights how the far-right threatens workers and underscores the importance of unions, particularly youth structures, in protecting these rights. Drawing from my own experience within the union, from the youth movement to now as a union employee, I share my insights and emphasise the need for active youth involvement in the fight against injustice.

Creating this video was an intensely personal and profound experience for me. This project not only aims to expose the dangers of the far-right but also to celebrate the strength and importance of youth within unions. Through my long-standing involvement in the union, first through the youth movement and later as an employee, I have experienced firsthand how vital it is to stand up for our rights. With this video, I hope to inspire young people to join this crucial fight.

Good morning, do you have some time to discuss the far-right?

Far-right movements are seizing power worldwide! But what does that mean for the brave heroes of the workforce?

History teaches us that the far-right, like a sinister villain, often undermines workers’ rights, dismantling unions, lowering wages, limiting working conditions. These are not exceptions, but their evil plans.

Our heroic workers are often the first to feel the consequences of these malevolent ideologies. Without the protection of unions, wages are lowered, working conditions deteriorate and job security diminishes.

But fear not, citizens! Unions have historically played a crucial role in protecting workers’ rights. Through collective action, we can resist policies harmful to the working class!

Do you enjoy being overworked and underpaid? Do you think equal pay is overrated? If not, maybe it is time to consider the power of a union.

With the union on your side, you can transform from a stressed-out employee into a workplace superhero. Fair wages, better working conditions, and job security!

Don’t let the forces of inequality win! Unite with your fellow workers and fight back against those who want to strip away your rights.

Youth structures within the union are vital for our future. Young workers, your voice matters! Join the union, get involved and help share a workplace that works for everyone.

Equal pay, gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights are not just ideals, they are essential. Join the union and fight for a workplace where everyone is respected and valued.

Réflexions

Making this video has made me realise not only how far we have come in protecting workers' rights, but also how much work remains to be done. The most important lesson I have learned is that the struggle for justice and equal rights never ends. We must remain vigilant and work together to prevent injustice from prevailing. My advice to viewers, especially young people, is to get involved, whether by joining a union or through other forms of activism. Together, we can make a difference and create a better future for everyone.

Looking ahead, I am determined to continue and expand my efforts within the union, with a special focus on youth engagement. I want to play an active role in protecting workers' rights and fighting against the threat of the far-right. My hope is to see more young people join the union so that the impact on the future of workers' rights can improve, especially by involving and inspiring young people to join this important movement.
